iPhone Setup

1. Open Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data.
2. If you use more than one SIM, select your KiwiSIM line for cellular data.
3. Open Cellular Data Network / Mobile Data Network, if available, and enter the following details:
   • APN: linksnet or plus. Use the APN printed on your product packaging.
   • Leave the username and password blank.
4. Return to the KiwiSIM line’s data options and turn on Data Roaming.

If the APN menu is not available, check your device’s instructions before changing other settings.

How to Set Up APN on an Android Phone

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Connections.
3. Tap Mobile Networks.
4. Tap Access Point Names and open the APN settings.
5. Enter the following details:
   • Name: kiwisim
   • APN: linksnet or plus. Use the APN printed on your product packaging.
   • Leave Username and Password blank.
6. Return to Mobile Networks and turn on Data Roaming.

Note: Enter the APN value in the APN field, not the Password field.

MiFi / WiFi Router Setup

1. Connect to your hotspot using the connection method specified in its manual.
2. Open the device’s administration page. The original KiwiSIM guide uses 192.168.0.1; your model may use a different address.
3. Sign in with the credentials printed on your device or provided in its manual.
4. Open Network Settings, enable Data Roaming, and find the APN settings.
5. Add a profile named kiwisim and enter the following details:
   • APN: linksnet or plus. Use the APN printed on your product packaging.
   • Leave the username and password blank.
6. Save or apply the settings and select the new profile if required.

Administration addresses, login details, and menus vary by model. Follow your router’s manual if its interface differs.

How to Set Up APN on a Camera

First, insert the SIM card and check the network connection. If the camera connects successfully, no APN setup is needed. Otherwise, follow these steps:

1. Create a Configuration File

   On your computer, create a plain text file named my_custom_apn_plus.txt or my_custom_apn_linksnet.txt

   Filename note: Add plus or linksnet after apn_ in the filename to match the APN printed on your SIM card. Use my_custom_apn_plus.txt for plus, or my_custom_apn_linksnet.txt for linksnet. The apn= value inside the file must match as well.

2. Enter the APN Settings

   Add these three lines to the file, leaving the username and password blank. This example is for a SIM card printed with plus:

   apn=plus
   username=
   password=

   If your SIM card is printed with linksnet, use apn=linksnet on the first line instead.

3. Copy the File to a MicroSD Card

   Save my_custom_apn_plus.txt or my_custom_apn_linksnet.txt, matching the APN printed on your SIM card, and copy it to the root directory of a FAT32-formatted MicroSD card. Do not place it inside a folder.

4. Import the Settings into the Camera

   Turn off the camera. Insert the SIM card, followed by the MicroSD card. Turn on the camera, then press and hold the reset button for a few seconds to trigger the update.

5. Wait for the Camera to Restart

   The camera will restart and automatically import the APN settings. A blue LED light or voice prompt may indicate success. Check that the camera is connected to the network.

Note: These steps apply to cameras that support this configuration method. Reset procedures and status indicators may vary by model.

Still Not Connected?

Check your APN settings:

APN: linksnet or plus. Use the APN printed on your product packaging.

Check that the new APN profile is selected where required, and that data roaming is enabled for KiwiSIM. For dual-SIM phones, also check which SIM is selected for mobile data.
